    PHOENIX, together with their client hansgrohe, wins the highest award in the iF DESIGN AWARD 2020 competition: GOLD for the RainTunes shower scenario. Plus another 9 iF DESIGN AWARDs in various disciplines. With regard to the great number of certainly very good products and projects submitted, this is an outstandingly great result.

    About 7,300 entries from 56 countries were submitted to the iF DESIGN AWARD 2020. This meant hard work for the international panel of jurors from business, science, and design who selected the outstanding submissions. In the 7 categories, 75 iF GOLD winners and 1,453 iF Award Winners were selected.

    RainTunes offers a multi-sensory and inspiring shower experience. In collaboration with experts from various areas of living, hansgrohe and PHOENIX have developed RainTunes scenarios. This comprises synchronising temperature and water intensity, water jet types, controlling lighting, fragrances, music, and additional multimedia applications. In combination with the hansgrohe Home App, innovative, digital possibilities for the bathroom are realised.

    Fluently easy and inimitable – that’s how the Aquno Select M81 kitchen mixer faucet by hansgrohe creates a trailblazing workflow around the kitchen sink. PHOENIX created the highly innovative design for this absolute kitchen novelty. The kitchen mixer faucet is particularly compelling thanks to its wide-array, soft SatinFlow water jet made up of micro-fine individual jets. In combination with the tailor-made multi-function strainer, culinary (pre-)preparation has never been easier, let alone so easy and efficient.

    iF DESIGN AWARD 2020 – Wilkhahn Intra – conference chair

    The new Wilkhahn Intra conference chair features continuously adjustable height and a synchronous mechanism for adjusting seat surface and backrest angle, and thanks to this the chair adapts automatically to people of different weights. PHOENIX transforms the look of high-quality conference chairs from a classic-representative design language to a modern-dynamic one: with the chair’s apparently seamless, embracing seat shell with stylishly integrated armrests, its organic lines with precise transitions between the premium materials, sophisticated upholstery featuring striking tucks in the backrest, and operating controls integrated perfectly into the seat and the armrests resulting in a nearly invisible mechanism.

    The MyStiebel App controls the Stiebel Eltron heat pump for your home. The heat pump can be adjusted with just one click in order to increase convenience and efficiency. More complex settings are displayed in a well-structured manner, allowing intuitive operation. Specific functionalities promote sustainable behaviour in a playful way. PHOENIX has emphasised the clear design so that with its precise details, the app perfectly conveys the brand values.

In this way, a range of products has come about (Water Station, Smart Bottle, Water Balancer, App, Web Portal) which blur the distinction between the digital world and the analogue world. A project with this scope has been shaped from scratch throughout several years of cooperation with a start-up company, evolving via numerous phases and resulting in an holistic and tangible ecosystem.

    iF DESIGN AWARD 2020 – hansgrohe – Finish-Plus-Design

    The new premium FinishPlus Design offers a great number of style options. While the new trend colours Matte White and Matte Black are subordinated to the architectural requirements, the metallic surfaces Brushed Black Chrome, Brushed Bronze and Polished Gold combine elegance and modernity. The Metropol basin mixer series, also designed by PHOENIX, is another good case in point of how forms and colours create a harmonious spatial experience.

    iF DESIGN AWARD 2020 – DELI – Duschabtrennung IO3

    The DELI IO3 shower enclosure excels with its minimalist, clear design and consistent layout down to the last detail. Here, PHOENIX did not emphasize individual products but rather the harmonious integration into the respective room situation; by phasing the same CMF all elements become one aesthetic entity. IO3 enables a uniform design language, both inside and outside the shower. The invisible hinge alignment prevents dripping off the easy-to-clean glass, being integrated into the supporting bar. The anti-dust floor rail is designed so as to repel to repel dirt, making sure that the glass door stays clean for a longer time.

    iF DESIGN AWARD 2020 – hansgrohe – Pontos Water Management

    The Pontos Water Management consists of two products developed in close collaboration between hansgrohe and PHOENIX. Pontos Base and Pontos Scout are connected with the hansgrohe Home App on one’s smartphone. Pontos Base is the water guard installed at the main water pipe. It checks for leaks, automatically shuts off the water supply in the event of damage, informing the user with a push notification to their smartphone, thereby effectively limiting water damage and related costs. Pontos Scout devices can be positioned at every key point in the house: for detecting water leaks, sending messages to the user’s smartphone, and shutting off the main water supply via Pontos Base.

    Designing the intelligent Smart Toilet Lavapura by hansgrohe, PHOENIX gleaned inspiration from stand-alone bathtubs. The reduced language of forms is inviting in its architectural clarity. The graphical silhouette and the characteristic changes in material present a strong iconic value. While focussing on a seamless design facilitates cleaning, the overall design with its details picks up on the Rainfinity series by hansgrohe. Lavapura features an exceedingly useful operation panel.

Stuttgart, 7 April 2020: PHOENIX, together with their client hansgrohe, wins the highest award in the iF DESIGN AWARD 2020 competition: GOLD for the RainTunes shower scenario. Plus another 9 iF DESIGN AWARDs in various disciplines. With regard to the great number of certainly very good products and projects submitted, this is an outstandingly great result.

PHOENIX receives a GOLD award for the inspiring shower scenarios RainTunes designed for hansgrohe. Further iF DESIGN AWARDs for hansgrohe: Aquno Select M81 and Talis M54, both kitchen mixers; the Pontos Water Management (Base and Scout), as well as the surface finish FinishPlus Design for a wide range of faucets, and the first “Smart Toilet”, Lavapura by hansgrohe.

Also honoured with an iF DESIGN AWARD 2020: Wilkhahn Intra – a conference chair; the groundbreaking ecosystem of the LUQEL Water Station; the design and concept for the Stiebel Eltron App (MyStiebel App), and another iF Award was handed over to our client DELI (China) for their IO3 shower enclosure.
