Creating a new micromobility brand

Tuleap: The First Body-Active Scooter

02/2026
Relevance

Urban mobility is undergoing a structural transformation. Increasing urban density, regulations, and climate goals are driving demand for sustainable, space-efficient transportation. Although micromobility offers potential, current solutions often fall short. Shared scooter and e-bike fleets crowd sidewalks, create visual clutter, and are often treated as disposable. Rather than improving urban life, they frequently add to public space chaos.

Cities are seeking solutions that enhance long-term urban quality instead of short-term convenience. Users want alternatives that offer sustainability, ownership, design value, and daily usability.

Combining exercising with electric assistance, merging the compactness of a scooter with the range and efficiency of an e-bike. Tuleap introduces a new product category: the body-active scooter. This approach shifts micromobility from a commoditised rental model to a durable, appealing product that merges into the urban environment and the community lifestyle.

Challenge

Building a Product Is One Step. Adapting to your lifestyle is the other.

Our challenge grew beyond designing a device to establishing a new micromobility identity. Tuleap needed to appeal to experienced commuters while remaining intuitive for first-time riders, ensuring accessibility, credibility, and emotional appeal.

Active mobility presents barriers such as effort, skill, equipment, and fear. Reducing these without compromising performance required a comprehensive approach. Delivering a device that feels alive in the rhythm of the city, reflecting the energy, authenticity, and style of urban life. We addressed product architecture, interaction logic, and brand strategy together to ensure clarity and ease of adoption for Tuleap users.

Impact

Vision to Validated Experience

We began by defining Tuleap’s core proposition: the problem it solves, its target users, and its current relevance. We then translated this ambition into clear brand DNA, product principles, and delivered an Ecosystem that unites riders, equipment and lifestyle.

We worked from concept to prototype, continuously testing assumptions about ergonomics, rider behaviour, and urban use. Design served as a decision-making framework, aligning engineering, user experience, and brand positioning.

This integrated process allowed Tuleap to move forward with clarity. Product features, interaction details, and visual identity were developed as a single system rather than as isolated outputs. For early-stage companies and startups, this alignment reduces costly redesign cycles and builds a foundation that scales.

Empowering Partners - Design as Strategic Infrastructure

How do you shape a brand when the team is just starting out? When working with startups like Tuleap, an essential part of our work is helping them discover their identity - defining what they stand for, how they move, and how they want to be experienced. From the earliest concepts, we work together with the team to translate vision into a tangible DNA, creating guiding principles that can grow naturally as the brand evolves.

We support Tuleap in making key design and product decisions, helping the team understand how interactions, product experience, and visual identity come together to form a coherent and recognisable presence. This process isn’t just about shaping a product - it’s about building a living ecosystem around the brand, the riders, and the community - where creativity, trust, and shared passion drive every decision.

Helping startups define themselves means giving them the tools to grow from within - creating a brand that is not only functional and innovative but also emotionally resonant, culturally connected, and ready to shape the way people move in the city.

Implementation

A new urban experience: compact, connected and community-driven

The design of the Tuleap X builds on the strengths of a compact, agile scooter archetype, combined with the active dynamics of a pedal type that works in closer harmony with its rider. Interaction flows naturally between motor and muscle power, giving form to a product focused on efficiency and an engaging riding experience. Simple. Intuitive.

With Tuleap, we confidently manifest a new mode of urban mobility that integrates effortlessly into everyday life. The device folds compactly to support multimodal journeys, while keeping the rider experience and social interaction at its core. Whether navigating the city, connecting with others, or sharing moments along the way.

Beyond its physical design, the Tuleap X strengthens connections among users, the brand, and the wider community, creating shared experiences and touch points that go beyond mobility. Through this approach, implementation delivers a holistic, human-centred experience in which product, people, and the brand ecosystem work together to create meaningful, everyday moments.
